Landlubber, go to thread: Hreco Croatian sailboat, you can see the rigging. Or similar threads on the bottom of this page.
Ancient kajaker, I wrote this boat(Hreco) is not designed for heavy sea. I also wrote in some other discussion that suchboat can sail round the world. Every strong built boat which can prevnet to take water inside can sail round the world. Boats without heavy keel and with air chambers are unsinkable. Sails manage you mast anyway.

    PAR Yacht Designer/Builder

Actually Richard, cardboard has some wonderful qualities about it when used with epoxy. I do see wood grain and plywood end grain in the image, but who knows.

I ran into a fellow at a boat ramp once, who claimed he designed and built the craft he was launching. I instantly recognized the boat, knowing the true builder, because of modifications he'd made to the plans. I asked him if he'd heard of this person, which of course he hadn't. Then I asked if he'd heard of me, which was the same as the previous answer. I replied it was his lucky day, because I designed the boat and helped the actual builder through the process and his modifications. He absolutely denied this was the case, until I told him to lift the aft locker and run his hand along the lower edge of the locker carlin. I asked if he felt anything, which he replied, yes, some sort of imprint. I told him this is where I suggested the builder place the second HIN and if he had a mirror I could tell him what it was. He promptly launched the boat and never looked back.

    That was post # 3

    That was post #9

Did these refer to different boats? I understand your unwillingness to be distracted from your Olympian heights of dazzling conceptual creativity for the needs of us simple mortals, but you must make allowances for us poor North Americans who are, as you have repeatedly noted, intellectually underprivileged.

I have located a pair of thick rose colored glasses in the locker and I'm going to assume a language barrier came into play as this thread was started leading to some hostility that has been removed.

jperkovic is a Croat living in Holland, I am a Dutchman living in Croatia, so I know both cultures. I'm afraid the language barrier is only part of the problem. The whole nation is very sensitive to criticism. I can't figure out the psychology behind it, they are good-natured and generous, but one wrong word and they bite you. For years my neighbors don't talk to me anymore...

Presenting an innovative idea in a forum is an invitation to both admiration and criticism, otherwise there would be no sense in doing it.

I´m not shure that there was any language related problem, but mentality related for shure.
Anyway the thread looks better now, the boat does not, it still is a senseless sketch.

    Hreco 1200

Good work Jeff. A few American sailors saved me out of my life raft. HRECO 1000 is designed for Croatian coast. I just begin with design of HRECO 1200 to sail round the world with the same crew. LOA 12 m + 2,8 m (4 m) dinghy; Beam 4,8m;.Draft 0,6 m!. This will be such boat( kayaker), I mean , with "A" configuration masts, catamaran-like bilge keels and certain "green energy" production capacity. I have already some originally solutions (with some modification of A rig ,foresails kite effect will be more pronounced and windward sailing will be improved). Also, underwater solutions with movable hydrofoil profiles on inward side of keels that can use speed of boat to act as dynamic stabilisers with lift or push-down force. There are more ideas like , pulling kind of fisherman's net (boom span is more than 13 m !) under certain sailing conditions with open foresails to catch krill, living bait, sardines etc

Ok there is a point at which some of us become a bit bad tempered, especially if a complete layman is insulting the professionals under us. We are giving our advice for free and are pleased to see novices improving with their projects, due to the assistance of this platform. You obviously do´nt look for such assistance but for fighting instead (for what ill reason so ever).
I understood Jeffs action to clean the thread `cos some of our reactions on your offending and aggressive posts have been unpolite too (mine included).

But you passed a barrier now and I would like to see this thread completely banned.

Here are hundreds of other members enjoying for example PAR´s, Teddy´s, Terry´s, CDK´s or my contributions for several years and thousand of posts. So, if you do´nt like any professional assistance, including critical comments, better you find another place to offend and insult people.

You got advice from a peer, PAR, and you instantly insulted him so I told you my personal opinion instead of giving assistance.
And with several hundred tonnes of highest quality wooden yachts produced every year, yes I claim to be professional.

I do not recall intentionally deleting a post by rasorinc in this thread -- it is possible I made a mistake and if so I apologize.

    Thanks for the points apex1.
I know next to nothing about sailing boats, so I will refrain from commenting the design. I seem to have missed some of the juicy parts of this thread because Jeff's broomstick was very effective: it was gone before I could load it.
