47' sport fisher hull

I am a building contractor and avid fisherman. However I have never built a boat before. Do you recommend my purchasing this never launched hull and contracting a builder to help me undertake this massive project. I have contacted a builder (alot of people say he is very resonably priced), this guy told me he could do the job but the labor alone would be around $160,000.00.
Please let me know if there is a cheaper way, besides taking it to Mexico.

do you have the tuna tower and two hard tops with it. if so sounds and looks like a good deal.hope you are getting the hardware with it.it so sounds good to me.

Everything but the hull to deck joint looks adequately done.

I trust you'll have a qualified boatbuilder/surveyor inspect the fiberglass and existing structure to be sure they were done right, especially if this was a one-off project, and to make sure nothing has deteriorated significantly, for example from any standing water in the hull before things were sealed, etc.

If it checks out to be in OK condition, then the question becomes how much of a deal you can get on the hull and how closely it fits what you want in a yacht in terms of performance, size, design, etc. If it's a good match to what you would ideally want and/or if the hull can be had for a great bargain, and if the condition is good, go for it.

As to saving money on a boatbuilding project, please let us know - myself I always use the 'it will be worth it in the end' argument

The price alone has little meaning without a written contract specifying the job that will be done. I am a custom boatbuilder and a master marine surveyor. Let me know if you need help with a takeout sheet and construction specs. Where is the boat?
