If we´re going to be honest, I'd build the Queen Mary 2 and invite a few friends along. If you´re going to go out, you may as well go out in style.

RHP, Seeing as how you are soooo rich, how about giving me just $350,000 to build my dream? :D:D:D:D (you do not really need that third "olympic" pool onboard? nor the gold plated toilet seats?)

An atomic propulsed icebreaker can be a good answer in case the hearth freeze, and if not, a thick hull with hundred years range can be usefull. Space to plant a vegeteble garden, and some chicken for the sunny side up eggs breakfeast. The trim ballast full of tea and cofee, and some good Fred Astair movies for the long evening. Guillermo as a good idea with the valkyries, but I am to old for this kind of preocupation which is certainly better than the Fred Astair movies. I forget, the icebreaker painted on an other color than the usual ugly orange. A nice dark blue or just plain black with dark yellow superstructure.

Mas forget your tub, you can have a first class suite on the upper deck on my little QM2 and I´ll give you 350,000 to play with in the casino old chap.

I´m going to get Juicey to be a stoker down below......

I don't gamble (casino wise) but I will look after your "playboy club" - I would like to try to out Hugh, Mr Hefner:D:D:D:D and I nominate Mr Frosty as my assistant and beer taster/tester, Safie, in turban and sitting on his magic carpet as the genie out of the bottle trying to get back in, Fanie in the role of "Scotty" on the Enterprise... I think Sean would be comfortable in the role of repairs & maintenance supervision? K9 as one of the captains? Jim "The1Much" in charge of the garden & livestock - so we all got fresh meat & vegetables/fruit...The list goes on and on and on :D:D:D:D:D

The pearling luggers were LUGGERS. They had deep forefoots , transoms, Heavy displacement and a completely different sheer. That is about as far from a pearling lugger as you could get. You a farmer perhaps ? :)

If civilisation collapsed and you wanted a boat it would be for fishing, transport of food trade goods, materials and temp accommodation and as a vehicle for longer voyages.
Really you'd want something light, tough, low maintenance rotproof without chemicals capable of island hopping and able to be carried out of the water by the crew . A carbon -fibre half decked centre boarder shallow draft but cabable of taking a load. Perhaps 30 feet and a simple crabs claw.

Anybody thought if ye need the space for beer and girls, all that toys and mother-in-law tag along... With imagination come free of charge and tea is in the pot, why not choose a NIRWANA concept instead... A full proof one if possible.
