I am searching for a source of spar quality clear sitka spruce for an unstayed mast. Will need 3"x3" square section, a little over 13' long. (Could laminate if neeeded.)

Any suggestions for a good supplier in southern New England will be appreciateed.

    Thanks so much.

    Robert,
Hey, Have you thought about using very good quality, local white pine?
W.P. for spars has gotten a bad rap... If you, like me, are in Southern RI, Thompson's Saw Mill is a good bet for oak or pine.

Would like to use sitka because of its strength to weight ratio.

Although a bit more expensive, in the overall cost of the boat... well, you know.

Thank you for the name of the saaw-mill as I will need a place to squaree up the stock. I'll call them.

    I am in Barrington.

    thanks again.
