My beach, Meols again (Hoylake) showing a traditional Morecambe Bay prawner (Nobby) dry on the moorings and some wonderful clouds overhead. No doubt there was going to be a great sailing wind next tide.

Here's a favorite airbrush done when you actually used a tiny spraygun and cut frisket templets, I do miss those days. The painting was inspired as I was wannabe designer wrenching in the greaspits of the offshore race team and found this wooden boat beautiful and outragius at the same time. Eight Mercury power heads, strung into dual power trains. Elegant solutions combining past wood boat crafting techniques with restrained composite surfaces and the power heads! Now there was some creative doing, we cast resonant "tuned" exhaust chambers into the belt support castings. The engine blocks were the lightest 200 hp+ 2-strokes Mercury could provide.

Now that's spooky. I've just come from the staff canteen where Gordon Lightfoot's song "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" was playing on the radio, and I see this.

Yesterday was the 33rd anniv. of the sinking of the "Big Fitz". Coincidentally it was also my 28th anniv. of joining the Coast Guard. I was on a standby dive ship when they raised the bell in '95. It was a moving moment I'll remember all my life.
