I wantto build a salvage boat for treasure recovery. I have sites located and a few ideas for a design. However, I do not have the expertise to design such a recovery craft. It needs to be a very shallow draft(24" Max.) and very robust, designed for salt water. Can someone help me if I provide some basic info and ideas>-thanks

What - you know where there is some treasure in shallow water!! I dont think you have time to design and build a salvage vessel - just get out there with any old workboat you can borrow or hire, or if it is really big treasure a crane on board a shallow barge or pontoon!

How far offshore, and what speed do you need to get there? Will you live aboard on-site while salvaging, or will it be a "dayboat" operation? How big a boat do you feel you need? What equipment do you want on-board? I have several designs for aquaculture vessels (mussel, oyster, and salmon farming) that might be adaptable. The vessel, if selected, could be built at a local buider who has experience with the design and trucked to you, or I could work with a builder in your area. If interested in talking a bit more on this, contact me at the e-mail address in my profile.

We did one once for a fella who was hunting in CUBA of all places. It was a jet boat...so it was shallow 24". The boat had to be able to dredge so we made a set huge big stainless tubes to re-direct the flow of the jets 90 degrees down. on a set of big hinges like a tail gate. worked awsome !

    help

Thanks Tim. We have used 90 deg. blowers before, so we are familiar with them. Mel Fisher and and other treasure hunters use them on thier boats. Thanks for the info Tim.-walt
