Looking to get into sailboats.

Maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I have been in the marine industry for 14 years. I have worked primarily in the fishing boat and pleasure boat market, but want to move to sails. With 8 years experience in R&D tooling and 6 years in design, I believe I would make a good asset with a strong willingness to learn. Does anyone know of a company looking for someone with a background such as mine? Thanks in advance.

I am not sure how a post of a guy wanting to move his boat to Chile falls in line with the question I asked, but it seems funny to you, so I'll let you have that one. I know my question seems like a stupid one and that is fine. But to a person that comes from the hills of Kentucky, where there are no sail boats, it is a legitimate question. I guess it would benefit me to just keep going the way I know.

Design BH is cool just having a bit of fun.Are you thinking of starting a new career .Times are bad man maybe hang onto what you got for the time being and build a smallish sailboat at home to see if it is realy what you want to do.These things are infectious wehen the bug bites you are done for

 

I am not upset by BH. I have been in the business long enough to develop a fairly thick skin. And six years in the Army prior to that makes me a fairly hard person to offend or hurt. I was just confused on the subject direction. Like I said I know for many it sounds like a stupid question, but legitimate for me and I am good with that.

Butch- I have considered that fact and am weighing it heavily. Don't get me wrong, I do love what I do, but I want to move into a larger, more refined class of boats. Not to mention, I would like to learn to sail for myself. I would build a small craft for myself, but we live in a condo with no garage. I have to rent storage for my fishing boat as it is.
