Well a boat is a boat and a yacht is a boat, but not all boats
are yachts and not all yachts are boats.

Land yachts, for racing on salt or sand.
Ice yachts, for racing on ice. DUHH!
    Large RV's are called yachts.

In the 15th century German, a jacht {yacht} was a hunting
    ship, or jachtschip!

    Was I any help??:p :p

Í take it you´re too darn lazy to pick up a dictionary?

Being the case, here´s an electronic version to stimulate your imagination.

    Enjoy

It's a boat if it's paid for and a yacht if it requires a mortgage.

That is the best definition I have heard of PAR. I will have to remember that.
But I know some guys with mortgages on their fishing boats!

If you are allowed to moor it in Montecarlo, then you're sure to have a yacht.

"Can it ever be called a yacht??"

It IS a Yacht , a boat used for pleasure , rather than trade or fisheries.

Yacht is USE , not mere size.

But I'm not sure you would be too welcome in Cannes in high season.

This was the answer i recieved from Fast Fred about a year ago when i asked the question about my boat...

"Any of various relatively small sailing or motor-driven vessels, generally with smart graceful lines, used for pleasure cruises or racing."

As per the dictionary. They would probably run my "yacht" out of any marina...
I could however join the redneck yacht club :p :D

In a yacht they got kinds of glasses for drinks, aperatives etc.. In a boat I can take "one" (occasionally a second one) from the bottle.. hik...
