leeking wooden horse

    My 31' Trojan (1970 vintage) has been seeping thru the tramson at the rim timber. Is there a way to temporarily get it to stop without doing a haulout?

    Sorry, boatinfoole, there is no 'foam in the spray can' kind of thing to stop the leaks through your transom seams. It's likely the problem solution could be refastening the planks to the transom, but frankly it would be guessing without more info . . .

    caulking cotton

    I have used caulking cotten and gently sealed leaks like yours.Start pushing it in leak area Being careful not to open up the leak.

    The quick and dirty for commercial boats is tin and roofing tar. Predrill holes in the sheetmetal for nails or screws, cover everything with a very thick layer of roofing tar and fasten it over the leaking area.
