I tried applying sand over Brightside one part . It came out splotchy/uneven. Maybe the Brightside dries too fast. I painted about 2.5 feet then poured 1/2 to 1 inch sand over a 2 feet area then painted 2.5 feet again...etc...
I had to remove the whole job...NIGHTMARE!
    Now the question is....
Do I switch paints? 2 part?
    Use epoxy primer?
Use non skid additive like Interlux added to paint or sprinkled?

At this point I am spooked about the sand approach, I like the Interlux stuff.a
    Any hints on sprinkle technique?
    Thanks.

You don't dump the sand on, you sprinkle it, and not much of it either. 2 or 3 small grains per square inch work well and still allow you to clean the surface.

You get a can, poke a few holes holes in it and use it like a salt shaker. Or use a salt shaker. Put down a coat of paint, sprinkle fine grain sand and let dry, then another coat of paint.

You also get small beads you can mix and then paint on. They are not as sharp as sand edges, you won't slip and you can clean it.

You get it in a silicon bead. Any of the fiberglass guys should have it. I was just thinking you may have to get a couple of grapple hooks to keep Manie aboard

It's nice to hear someone is progressing well. My own boat is progressing so frustratingly slowly I'm not even going to comment on it :(

I think I will use the Interlux Intergrip 2398 beads sprinkled over Brightside one part polyurethane.

If you want a good even non-slip surface.paint your surface and while it is wet, sprinkle a complete even coating of non-skid material all over.Do not touch until paint is dry. Then vacuum of surplace material. Then paint again.
The finish is like sand paper finish for eveness.Another coat when that is dry if required.
