OK so it appears you have the "google-earth image" right but where is it?????? I wanna know too y'know... Ahhhh so, "Put-in Bay" on South Bass Island, just south of the border of a civilised country?

OK I have nothing to post but the hunt was fun and I learned something, Lets now divert our attention to "Find that out and then you'll be able to play Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego!" (were you aware I come from the future)

....a Peace Memorial named after a dead guy who had a hand in the "War of 1812".

Find that out and then you'll be able to play Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego! ;)

    South Bass Island??????

Hmmmmm.....Bingo! In the Buckeye State, it beee. :)

You came from the future? Do you know Sarah Conner? I'll tell you a little known secret. Canada was annexed by George Bush as our 52nd state after they elected a conservative.

    It's all a Skull's and Bone's/Mason conspiracy.

Ok, forget that I miss-spelled Carmen SanDiego. It's Carmen Sandiego with a small letter 'd'. I don't want it to appear as if I meant some place like San Diego, or somewhere near there. That might sound like I was giving it away. :D

This just goes to show how badly Google can be at finding things if all one had to go on was 'Second Tallest Monument'. Coupling that with an 'Images' search, one could drill down several pages of pics and still strike out.

However, just typing in 'Peace Monument 1812', with the 'Images' search and there it was, picture, name and all! :D
After that, it was just a matter of adding the tag 'coordinates' to get the lat and long position of the monument.

Funny thing was, none of those were the tags I used in cracking the challenge. It was fun giving Google a workout, though.

    Keep 'em coming!

    Regards.

No...this looks like a bombed out island. Only had to do it once...but that wasn't enought for this place. God help the islanders.

Rumor has it this will be a tourist attraction in 10,000 years!

    :D :D :D

I shouldn't laugh , though. This gift from us to them is 100 megatons worse than a white elephant. :(
