    Pontification is another vice, as is telling "tallies".... I have often been advised, (since I am not a journalist), to "never let the truth get in the road of a good story" and in true novelist tradition, (neither am I one of those), embed acceptable facts and time-lines to make the rest of the story palatable, acceptable and divorced from suspicion of being partly constructed of obfuscation... ? :D
