    Design

    fede,

    Strikingly attractive, and aggressive appearance.

Visibility over the bow seems marginal in the best of conditions.

Someone more qualified will have to offer an opinion on the hull configuration.

THanks for your comment Doug, Yes you are right, visibility IS a problem in this version, I've already planned to move everything forward, there are a couple of more things that need to be changed here and there ( for example the inclination of the transom).

She's a cherry! What's wrong with the transom angle?

My (limited) understanding of transom angles for surface drives is
    1. Arnesons are designed to bolt straight onto a transom designed for sterndrives - ie 12.5 degrees (I think)
    2. All surface drives benefit from increased transom angles as it assists in low speed manouvering - reverse.

Is it normal in deep-vee hullforms such as this to run the spray rails / strakes full length?

Spray strakes are most effective when they are effectively deflecting spray. Submerged strakes aren't that functional for creating lift, but do serve some function stiffening unsupported bottom panels. I'd run them fully aft, but I wouldn't run them further fwd than where the upper one emerges from the static waterline. As the boat comes up on plane first the upper ones fully emerge, and then the lower ones emerge and come into action.

I forgot those disadvantages of surface drives. The big swim deck in combination with the transom (what ever angkle you put it at) may create a low pressure area under the swim deck. You may have to ventilate the transom to improve performance and surface drive efficiency.

    It's a nice boat.

Good ! some more comments, I really thank you guys...
The full lenght rails is something I've seen a lot in offshore, it'something that helps keep rolling down, I might add that they have a structural function as they reinforce the hull (so it is a double function, stiffening as thunderhead says and for stability)

I think that you had to enlarge, 4 meter of beam is too little for a 65 ft,considering than it probably will be built in VTR, keep in mind that sandwich and stiffeners reduce and force interior design.

I know, 4 meters it's narrow, but it's supposed to be a high performance yacht, so interior design it's not a priority.
I can get to 4.30 ...but not more than that! :D
By the way, i saw you are from Italy too, let's keep in touch!

    65' Deep Vee Planing Hull

Fede, I really like your boat, it looks great....... :)
two things could be impoved if possible:

    1 - visibility
2 - Deck camber and reverse sheer

If you reduce a bit of deck camber and reverse sheer, this could be fine to increase a bit your visibility, but this would depend upon how much headroom you have in the accomodations.....as the asesthetics looks great at the moment, you might have to find the right balance...... :D

    Let me know

    Thanks Vincent!
Before trying to touch anything else i moved a couple of things forward, the boat was a bit unbalanced from an aestetic point of view ,deck camber might be reduced a bit ...but since this is a very sportish hull there is not much height inside.
The deck camber is this way because I needed headroom (and I must say it looks good) same thing for reverse sheer...but i might try to reduce a bit here and a bit there ...if it's still needed.
The conjunction of the Roll Bar with the deck is also changed and made smoother and longer to balance the shift made toward the bow.
