I need a marine designer to do several things for my new West coast Shipyard. I need someone to do general design and engineering work for new build and modification of vessels in the yard. I would also like to find an architect to do a set of designs similar to the Valco Bayrunner line of boats, 18' to 26' to be built with the maximum use of automated welding equipment (ESAB). I want a versital design that might accomidate various types of power and drive systems, USCG approved. We are interested in building these boats to expand our shipyard's client base. We are a fresh Clean Deepwater shipyard with a 165 ton travel lift located in Northern California. Dave Wright 1-800-838-0661

That sounds like it is just about ideal for me. Unfortunately we are about as far apart as can be and still be on the same continent. About this time of year I'd like a little more California sunshine and a little less Nova Scotia snow. <grin>

    Good luck on your search.

    Dear Sir/Madam

My name is Christian Forbes-Bell and I am a 29 year old Concept Designer with the LEGO Company in Denmark

I have spent the last three years being responsible for creating concept ideas and intellectual properties for LEGO and I am looking for a new and challenging position in marine design.

My work at LEGO has also involved all the responsibilities of seeing these concepts through to production and as a result I have developed a good understanding of global production and marketing and the needs of different consumer groups, ergonomics, economics, production methods, safety, logistics and global trends.

Amongst other qualifications I have a BaHons degree in Transport Design from Coventry (England) and my seven years of experience previous to Lego include fibreglass modelling and mould making, lecturing, commercial photography, 3D computer modelling and corporate presentations.

I am a talented and highly creative individual who can work unsupervised to a high standard to meet and exceed the requirements of the position that has opened within your team. I not only like to define problems, but also enjoy providing creative solutions to them. As well as my strong artistic competencies I also have excellent leadership abilities and enjoy the challenge of motivating a team to work towards a mutual objective whilst not forgetting the importance of simply making the work enjoyable.

I am open to relocating from Denmark and am interested in opportunities in the U.S, Europe and Australia and I am flexible regarding locations. Free lance work may also be considered.

If you are interested and would like to meet me and see my work, click on this address and send me a mail. christianforbesbell@hotmail.com.

I look forward to your reply an opportunity to present myself in person.

    Kind Regards

    Christian Forbes-Bell

    I'm a naval architect with 8 years' design/construction experiences.

    Dear Mr. Wright,

I'm a naval architect between intermediate and senior level.

    My career experience includes:

    1. Seven(7) years' design(detail, construction,stability calculation,
outfitting, manoeuver test, sea trial, etc.) in Dalian New Shipyard,
    China (www.dns-shipbuilding.com)

    2. Five(5) months' design experience in M.D.A. marine design associates, ltd.,
    Victoria,BC (www.marinedesign.net)

I'm eager to be back in the naval architectural community.

DNS, the biggest shipyard of China, gave me the chance to practise any aspect a design engineer can experience.

My experience in MDA, verified my qualification as a naval architect in North America. MDA recommends me as "a hardworking and conscientious worker".

Currently, I'm in the process of becoming a canadian citizen and graduating with a bachelor's degree.

I think I can easily do this job.

Please email huai_chin@yahoo.com , if you have interest.
