Hi to all and great forum with an incredible knowledge base!

I'm new here and thought I'd introduce myself and pose a question about a current project. I am fairly new to boating and have purchased a project boat which I have had for 2 years. The vessel is a 1974 Trojan F-32 ( modified vee hull with relativley low deadrise). I don't venture off shore too often and know that this hull is far from ideal for rough water comfort or safety. I do enjoy the boat quite a bit and would like to improve what find as the most annoying trait. Tracking in currents or a follwing sea.

I'n not an expert, and I've talked to a few locals but have gotten conflicting direction. My question is, would extending the rudders help or hurt tracking, especially in a following sea situation?

I understand the hull is very wide aft and fairly shallow. Some folks suggest that the additional rudder area will help keep the tail planted while others suggest the additional area will only provide more surface area for the currents to push against.

    Any thoughts or other suggestions?
