    gears for GM 6.2L diesel

Does any one have any recommendation for transmission for the 6.2L. I think I have located an engine dealer who will sell a set, these came from a fleet of Hummers.

A Borg Warner Velvet Drive will work fine with a marinized 6.2. Make sure you use a solid flywheel off a manual transmission engine instead of the flexplate.

I am rebuilding a 36' 1979 pacemaker taking out 454s and replacing them with volvo diesels tamd63pa 360 hp. Along with going from 1 3/8 shafts to 1 3/4 and not sure that is big enough. This means larger struts and props. I am retired and work part time at a boat co. that parts out and scraps insurance totals needless to say how I get payed. I got the volvos out of new boat that burned in a marina fire and went down. The motors and tranies were pickled but a poor job.
I took them compelety apart and having a diesel man put them up and running.
A rebuild kit for the volvos east or west coast is $3300.00 ea.
Any way you cut it it is a hole lot of work but kind of enjoyable.
    Good luck
