    This position is located in the Engineering Logistics Center where feasibility, preliminary, contract and detailed design specifications and plans are prepared and/or reviewed for new construction and modifications to existing Coast Guard (CG) vessels. The incumbent has responsibility for all aspects of naval architecture of Response Boat Medium (RB-M) including: hydrodynamics, seakeeping maneuvering, stability, resistance, propulsion and structure. The incumbent analyzes total boat structure and structural components; and reviews plans and specifications developed by the contractors. Specific duties include: identifies and resolves issues of project scope, cost, resources, etc; writes management plans, instructions and task assignments to ensure that plans, programs, budgets, and schedules are properly integrated and time-phased; serves as a mentor and provides guidance to entry-level engineers; and participates in planning conferences with supervisory and project coordinator engineers to provide necessary information pertaining to the specialty area.
