Replacing carpet for Non-Skid - Helm Seat - Pics -??

Currently upgrading my 88' bayliner with non skid, and a helm pedestal seat. Whats the best way to reinforce the starboard box for the pedestal? I am already going to lay some FG sheet and resin to the box, and some fiber-bondo. And what is a fishing white style non-skid paint/material that is cheap? Here are some pics of the start, its wet from pressure washing int the pics, no rot.

 

Here are some new pics from today. We built on the box with 2 sheets of plywood resined together and screwed down 1 by one, finished with fiberglass mat over top all resined... I think its strong enough now. We also worked more on the hull, sanding and filling with bondo-glass. Here are some pics........

 

Redeye, Welcome. If you're going to lay more glass over the edges you should round them over with a 1/4", preferably 3/8-1/2" quarter round bit. A cheap, servicable non-skid would be 2 coats of porch and floor paint with sand sprinkled into the first coat. It doesn't take much.
