Hi, I am a amateur boat builder and am looking for a company that does plug cutting. Unfortunately, I am limited financially but I have a design for a 31' center console and I would like to know if there are any companies out there that can cut a plug for me at a decent price. Does anyone have any suggestions or connections they could put me in touch with? Please let me know. I am located in Miami.

    Thanks.

Thanks again. They do look good. The only problem I see is that they are not in the country. Have you worked with them personally? What is it about this company that makes it a good suit for me in your opinion? Do you know of anyone located in the U.S.?

In my opionion, all the CNC-plants do the same quality, but the prices are very different. If you go to South Africa, you will safe a lot of money, and a 40ft container from SA to the US is not that expensive these days.

In the US, you can try Marine Concepts, Vecotorworks, and Mollicam in Florida, Janseneering in Maine, and Janicki in the state of Washington. Most charge about the same price per unit area.....

Thanks for all your responses. I will research all these options. I appreciate your help and if you think of anyone else, feel free to shoot them over.

There's also DLBA Robotics: http://www.dlbarobotics.com/ in Virginia. They do quality work but if you're on a tight budget it would make more sense to go with a company closer to you. FWIW I have seen molds made by Vectorworks and they were everything they were supposed to be.

Have you thought about building the plug by hand from jigs?

I don't have experience producing a plug with jigs so no I have not researched that. I'll check it out though. Thanks.

Try www.Cordek.com I am managing the Creative solutions department here at Cordek. We are currently installing a third larger 5 axis router to do jobs in the size you are looking at.

    Cheers Kit
