I am a 28yr. old male,I just started the Westlawn Yacht Design program and just sent in my first lesson. I am looking for a "mentor' or someone who would be willing to take me under their wing and show me ropes of the designer's duties. Its one thing to read all the material possible and do the lessons, but I want my eyes and ears involved as well. Also, maybe give me a few pointers and critic on some of the design lessons that I will need to complete during the Westlawn program.

My current job hours are from 7:00am - 3:30pm. I am located in Ft.Lauderdale, FL. and willing to travel in considerable proximity. This could be with a private practice or at a marina that does modifications and builds. I could be at the location by 4:00- 4:30 depending on location. Just looking for a few hours a day and about 4 times a week. I not looking to get paid as I already have a full time job. Just looking for expierence and to be around the practice. I am highly motivated and willing to learn everything. Maybe I can contribute some of time helping around the shop, etc.

I do have some expierence in the marine industry as I worked for a marine electrician for about eight months.

If anyone is willing, here is my email address. Please send an email with contact information and I will get a hold of you as soon as I see the email.
