    Hi all.
I am looking for stock plans for a go-anywhere, steel, radiused chined cruising yacht. Reasonably traditional looking above the water line, preferably a gaff ketch with a marconi mizzen (to keep the rig cost down) Fin and skeg under the water for a reasonable turn of speed. I am very much into single handing, and as I am planning to go (back) to the high latitudes I would like some form of interior watch keeping place - a traditional pilot house??
I am looking at Dudley Dix and Ted Brewer, I think I have visited most web sites but I would be grateful for any suggestions or recommendations or designs that are not on-line.

    Thanks!

    50' steel ketch

Certainly not traditional, but aimed at short handed sailing. Have a look at the rig (single-masted ketch/cutter) on the monohull section of my site www.RunningTideYachts.com.

I have missplaced my original hull drawings but it is described as a twin asymetric keel vessel. The deckhouse contained a small saloon table and was located over the engine installation. This area was intended as a comfortable inside watch location during inclimate weather and could be provided with a hand held steering control. From this central raised mini-saloon you stepped down into the passageway to the aft cabin on the port side, and on the other side you stepped down into the captain's berth.

    Regards, Brian Eiland

    Thanks Roy
But I bought a design from Ted Brewer and worked with him on some modifications as well as converting all his paper drawings to cad. The result is in my gallery here

Now I have postponed the trip it was designed for and bought an Aluminium singlehanded race boat instead..

Good luck with your build. Whats your plans for her when she's built?
