Has any body heard anymore news about the ice melting in antartica?

I keep hearing mixed things about it?? the latest is that we wont be able to go down there soon as after the ship was sunk a few weeks ago there are to many ice bergs starting to break off.

Has anybody heard anthing else around the world??? Are things starting to happen for real??

I've heard nothing? and the sky is still where it should be. Several research vessels recently left Hobart & I think NZ in a multi vessel research project. There are several dozen buoys automatically recording water temp at various depth around the Antarctic. That data is relayed via satellite direct to the research facility (don't remember which university - in Australia?).

Preliminary info about 2 weeks ago (from the data generated by the buoys) implied surprise at the temperatures being higher than believed/expected.

It's the summer research season down there. 24 hours daylight every day.

I know of a couple small ships heading down south towards the ice, besides being jelous and wanting to go with them, it gets my cruising juices flowing and i want to fast track my plans now, The way i see it is you only have one life and why not make the most of now and go do it.

The earth is starting to tell us things and we should really start listening

All yours Sir, If I was meant to go to Antarctica, I would have been either a penguin or a whale!

The rest of my life will be heading to and around the tropics, where the islands are small, the water is warm and the people are friendlier than most.

Although it is generally accepted that no race of human can be said to be more intelligent than another.

BUT --BUT if one had to really point a finger, It is said that Asians are more intelligent. A London friend of mine (oxymoron) has a Cambodian girl friend. She never had the opportunity to go to school. She can read and write Cambodian, Read and write Thai (which is another alphabet) and is now learning to write English ( again another alphabet). She sorts out all his sim cards, his finances, and can use a computer --he cant!!

In contrast to America where some students can barely write English.

But for the most stupid members of the human race it was ultimately tracked to the south west of England. It is thought that the final step of the primate standing upright and walking on two legs was there. Some are said to be still around living and breathing ---just.

Watch out for the East,--- it will sneak up and bite you.
