I own a 1977 36' sailboat, 'Adios', and am trying to find out any Info I can about its manufacture. There is plenty of info about Doug Peterson and his designs, but not this one specifically. I can't find ANYTHING about the CBN yard named on the plate and papers. I found a portal listing all the currently active yards in Taiwan and CBN wasn't listed. CAN ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT THE DESIGN OR BUILD OF THIS BOAT?!?!

Possibly from Cantieri Barbaris in Italy? Peterson did some work for them in the '70s.

    The floorplan shown matches exactly...

Excellent lead, thank you Paul. The floorplan shown on the website matches exactly what we have. The biggest piece of the puzzle now is the meaning ot the 'N' of the CBN shown on the plate, and establishing that the Barberis had a yard in Taiwan in the 70s. Again, thank you for the reply, this is the most solid lead I've had yet.

The N is probably for Navi or Navale.

Their site had an e-mail address, so you can contact them for more info. Are you sure your boat was built in Taiwan?

My basis for thinking it was built in Taiwan is solely that the plate on the distribution panel says CBN Taiwan on the first line...maybe the plate itself was made there.

    Barberis is not the answer

Giancarlo Barberis just e-mailed me back finally, and says they never had a yard in Taiwan. He says Peterson designed the Show 34 for them (as can plainly be seen on their website) and the photos I sent him were not of a boat they have built...still searching for info on CBN yard in Taiwan.
