I was speaking with Lars guck a few months ago about this issue and I will probably see him this Tuesday racing in Bristol. I will find out if he knows where to find that data posted. These hulls are 3mm marine grade plywood, my T hulls are 4mm. The current A3 hulls are Carbon/nomex/carbon I believe. Ian Lindahl and his father are producing a new A the LR2 that is carbon/foam/carbon and I will see if I can post a picture of it here. But back to the thread here, I just finished a rack atop of my Subaru to transport my new A assembled, upside down to and from reggattas. It is about a 1 1/2 hour drive each way and some of it on interstates, some city and some small town roads. We will see if it works out.

The a-class made out of wood is a beautifully handling single hander boat. It does not have to be rigged state of the art and so-on, but they do sail well.

Is an A-class at 75Kgs legal on the roof? What about the mast?

In this country, yes it is. I have made a cradle for the mast to fit into that sets atop the overturned platform and secure each end to attachment under the car.

What did you produce the mast from? carbon fiber? Or did you buy one pre-made? length?

My mast is a Hall Spar carbon fiber mast 30 feet in length. The wooden A that I know about is with an aluminum mast same length. Aluminum beams as well.

Racing is on Tuesday nights. There are probably 8-10 A's set up there all the time. For thee most part they are a pretty open group to talk to. They are all very knowledgable about their boats and rigs. Ben Hall and lars Guck probably could impart the most knowledge. As for me, I am the newbie of the fleet and just now am getting back into the racing there.
