Bending wood over steel frames..?

    Legendary Yachts also use a 'similar' composite technique. In the photos (see link) they use steel for all of the frames, keel, transom etc and then plank with wood - latter yachts use strip-planking I believe.

    Hi Omeron, when I go to the home page gallery in the website - I find some pictures of construction where a few metal frames are in place.
    If I go this full URL on the Home page :-

    The photo shows a boat without any metal frames. Question: In this instance do they use the metal frames to form the wooden and then remove them?

    I believe the photo mentioned belongs to a smaller custom build.
    Probably spirit 80 something.
    The steel frames belong to spirit 100, and are permanent part of
    the hull.
