Looking for advice on removing and replacing the rotor on a thunderbolt ignition. It is an 87 Merc Cruiser 5.7L 260 HP. Is there some trick to removing this rotor? Does it just pull off? Seems to be on real tight? Looking for ideas. Is there something I am missing?

    Thanks in advance...Randy

set a drop light on the rotor for 5-10 min then pull it off if not any heat source as long as you don't burn the boat down

for future reference, they usually seize on there. Just take a chisel or a screwdriver and put it on top of it and give it a wack or two with a hammer and it will split in half and you are done.
