frosh, it's hard to tell whether it's actually still in existence. I do, though, like being in a club that sports Prince Phillip as it's president. Perhaps it looks better from here on the west coast of the US of Ahhhhh than it is....

Got to stare at two 3d windsurfer sails at waterrat once. 10 seconds, and the bumbs rush. With prejudice.

good news. thats a step in the right direction i feel. can i have one for my moth?

what i want to know is:
does a symetrical foil like this one generate a higher Cl than a standard sailboard sail? or an extended pocket luff sail (semi double skin sail)? or even a standard sail with a wing mast?
or does the design rely on the reduced drag to obtain a better top end?

Mr. Yip, what is the name of the inflato-sail, prurt? trublztfl? SRRu?t? Judging from the 3 dimensional nature of the leach, lots of pressure recovery in the wake?

just yip or joop is enough without the Mr. inflating the battens gives room for camber adjustment to port and sb as well and that leech made me wonder too, like possibly a draft in the sail sucking trough perforation the boundry layer to a higher cl as in the illustration in my first post, fascinating stuff isnt it.

thanks for the high res pic sail! a very interesting question on lift i found in this thread and like to check "Sail Performance " by Marchaj
for now open leech and leading edge devices in hoerner's fluid-dynamic lift is a exelent read
and shows a powered wing ( blown flaps etc ) can do up to Cl 10, maybe thats used in power hydrofoils
so some propulsion on the foil isnt all that crazy
