jet drive

    hi i have just purchasedmy first boat with jet drive and i am very impressed,only thing is i would like to know how i can flush engine out without damaging the jet drive impellor,can somebody tell me how long i can run the unit without water if i can thank you

    The only way to run a jet pump out of the water is to disconnect the pump shaft from the engine. Very hard on pumps to run dry.

    whatever you do, do not run your jet out of the water for more than 30 sec. if so you WILL damage the wear ring inside of the pump housing. dissconnect the drive shaft from the motor and make sure that your exhaust is also disconnected from the water inlet if not then your engine will fill up with water.
