Volvo Outdrive lube?

    I looked and the owner manual again and again - if I am reading it correctly the outdrive uses 10w/40 oil just like the motor. I expected it to use gear oil like the foot on an outboard.

    Am I reading the manual correctly?

    ford-m I love Epoxy

    Well it depends on the drive you have
    If its a 275 it will take straight 30 but if you have the Duo-prop you need GL5
    lube

    it is a 270 attached to a AQ125B.

    ford-m I love Epoxy

    Use the same oil as your engine according to Volvo for the 270 drive
