    Interesting boat. What I dont understand are all these engines. This wont make the boat faster. More engines (gearboxes) creates more drag.

    Yes it will. More engines = more power, therefore more speed. An outboard puts out a hell of a lot more power than the drag its gearcase adds.
    Eight 250 hp units, each with its own prop and gearcase, is obviously not as efficient as two 1000 hp motors with appropriate drives. But a drug runner, he doesn't give a damn about efficiency. Four of those eight can die outright and he'll still get his suitcases of cocaine to their destination. If one of the twin 1000s dies, the cops get him.
