    Hi Everyone,

I'm an aluminium boat builder with over 10 years experience currently working in Brisbane, Australia. I'm extremely keen to go over to Dubai, does anyone know of any boat building companies over there looking to hire? I've been looking everywhere on the net but no luck!

    Any advice is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks
    Richard:)

Its very difficult to get jobs over seas, especially in Dubai where everybody wants to go.

I know of some guys that go door knocking--places like Singapore for example they just go round asking --they generally get one or get to know of one.

Its very unlikley you will be asked to work, but pass on your experience in some kind of managment or supervisory level.

Maybe you should go first,-- the heat takes some getting used to,-- beleive me!! Some never do and have to return home.

    Thanks for feedback

    Thanks for feedback.

I actually was in Dubai last year, stopped off there on my way back from working in Azerbaijan - now that is one place where the weather is extreme! As for door knocking that probably isn't for me. I have a wife and seven month old son so I would need something set up before I left.

Disappointed to hear that work is hard to find over there, I had actually heard the exact opposite. Just had three mates go over there, they dont' work in the boat building industry though.

Will definitely apply for supervising jobs. Was a supervisor when I lived in Tasmania a few years and have completed a course in it.

Thanks heaps for the advice, every bit helps.
