    Hey folks,

I am looking for either plans or a finished boat that is about 18' long. What I am looking for is something similar to a "Higgins Boat" of WWII fame. I would like to have a ramp on the front and a very shallow draft. Do any of you know of something like this or am I dreaming again?

Thanks for any help you can spare.

that 3D view is "neat" indeed Gary!

i downloaded the free 3d anfy player applet http://www.anfyteam.com/anj/index.html some time back but be aware their 3D viewer still works from disk but i never got it to work on the net. now trying it again from their site above my pc locks up. perhaps becouse ive been playing with MS active3D and direct3D also...

anyway, anfyteam has a lot better reputation than me in software development and their help is only 20.- away, think i just goofed...

still i wonder how this one from http://www.viewpoint.com/ works,
http://pop.rtcwfiles.com/index.php?p=view&id=44 was a good find and thanks for showing!

Try these links for PT boat stuff:

    http://www.ptboats.org/

As for real "prints" forget it! I've looked for years. Some large scale models have very detailed prints, but you'll have to scan them in and enlarge them to get better perspectives for your line drawings.

Do a Alta-Vista search for "PT BOAT", "PT BOATS"...with the quotes.

    Good luck.

Some where in Harkers Island there is a man who built one style of the PT boats. I will see if I can find him and ask him if he has any of the plans or drawings. If memory servce me correct his was the first style to be used.

SOMEWHERE here in the States... there is a guy who built a single seat, eighteen-foot, "Elco 80" PT boat using an old jetski power and propulsion plant... complete with all the 50's and torpedo tubes... scaled up from model boat plans.

I can't find the damned webpage in my "favorites" so I'll do another search. It might be in the computer at work...

    more later.
