    hi

I have a question to sailors.

How fast you were able to sail on your yacht(what is your record)?

A little over 22 on two occassions. Once offshore heading for Bermuda after the Gulf Stream on a Swan 45; once between Anguilla and St. Maarten on a Valicelli 44 (plywood!); both times kite up and surfing.

Nothing like the sorts of velocities you encounter up at 'the belt, but heck, at least we've got wind (air) down here.

    Orion's Belt (birthplace?)

Slight digression. Once quite a number of years ago I saw a planitarium show in Miami beach titled "Child of the Universe".
The bases of this title was that in Orion's belt there was identified what was thought to be the only star born in our galaxy during the life of our planet earth ?? Yea, ney ??

Over 38 knots on a board boat in hurricane Hugo, a number of years back (when my hands still had some grip left in them). We were trying to set a record, but came short by several knots.
