Does anybody know this boat?

Dear Forum-Members,

a very close friend wants to buy the following boat here in Europe

Sailing Boat,
Type: 'Folcedancer',
lonk keel sailing yacht,
length:8,20 m,
width: 2,29 m,
Inboard Engine, Type: 'Sernagialla' with 12 HP,
both buildt in 1970

never heard anything about the boat or the engine before.

Would be great to receive some information or a contact adress

It's very likely that the boat you're referring to is a 'Folkdancer'. To the best of my knowledge this is a British built G.R.P. version of the Folkboat design which itself has been built in different versions varying mainly in hull construction (either clinker or carvel planking) and the cabin type and accomodation layout. Folkdancer boats were built up to the 1980's and were available either completely finished or, more usually, in 'kit' form comprising possibly the hull and deck mouldings only. If appropriately finished and rigged a Folkdancer would have similar performance and sea-keeping abilities to those of the folkboat...in other words it would be quite fast and very seaworthy. Never heard of this engine though! Hope this helps!

I had the pleasure of owning a Folk boat and she was fast and seaworthy for such a small craft. I sold her and moved on but quite a few years back ran across the Swedish Yacht Ministery. I am not sure if that title is correct but they were building Folk boats in glass and this fellow was in Ft Lauderdale Florida. The company I think was based in Sweden.
