    show me a government I don't hate:D
    especially mine...

My girlfriend and I and two of our best freinds are going to spend the eve, and new years day out on the boat on our mooring, with a obscene amount of fabulous food and drink. Perfect spot to view the fireworks and swim off our hangovers.
Hopefully the thunderstorms forecast do not materialize:eek:

    Happy new year everyone.

    Hans.

    Ditto!

Not on the mooring tho'--probably drinking away the pain of longboarding all day! Not in the boat shed.

Happy new year & the best to you all----whatever turns your crank, even the
turn your mota on to tack-ers! ;) Cool invention really.

Learning to sail a foiler moth is on my wish list for my next life. That, and kite surfing!

Our late past president Ford is said to have said; "we can disagree without being disagreeable" Words of wisdom I believe.

Boat design forums are my favorites for more than one reason. 1.I learn things here, 2. occasionally I am able to contribute something to a particular discussion, 3. above all, the forum is largely conducted in a most civilized manner.

Yes, there are some curmudgeons out there, but that is to be expected considering the very large subscription rate. Actually some of the curmudgeons are not really bad people. Consider that not every writer has the communicative skills as the next one. There are also cultural differences that affect our manner of speaking. Culture A hears a remark from culture B that is misinterpretted as to be a demeaning remark. Alright ! I agree that there are some ********* out there. When we encounter those, all we can do is grin and bear it.

I appreciate the privelege of participating in these discussions either as a lurker or as a person who tosses in his two cents worth. I am grateful that there are so many really smart individuals who share knowledge and experience with us. The forums have international flavor too. What more could we ask?

Best wishes for a happy and prosperous new year to all of you. (even the few jack asses)

    Gene

I don't undetrstand what you mean. Verytricy used a bit of typical British caustic humour:p , but I don't see it as a personal attack.

If you think this site is hostil to newcomers, you have not a lot of expetience with internet forums, or you are a very lucky guy.

    Have a nice year;) .

    New Year

My New Year's resolution is not to drink as much as I did last year.
Hopefully it'll be a lot more.

Happy New Year to you all.
