I have a 2001 Tracker Q3 with a 200 HP Merc engine and stern drive. Recently the lower unit has been making knocking souns in forward and reverse and has diminished thrust in the water. Has anyone experienced this or can offer suggestions on how to fix the problem? Thanks.

Sounds like it's not going all the way into gear. Maybe adjust the shifter cable?

Good point, I hadn't thought about that. I'll take a look this week end. Thanks,
