Hello everyone new to boatdesign.net and of course have a question that will sound very stupid but being disabled it is hard to search for parts so could someone explain were the engine mounts for a olds 350 on a jet boat are located and if any rubber mounts are involved? Have developed a little vibration when first give boat gas that disappears as I go faster, so I figure a engine mount is loose and needs tightining at least I hope thats all it is. Thanks guys for any help

Go to hotboats.com and look in the forums under the Just Jets section. There is a lot of information there. I wish I could answer your question but I am new to the Jet boat world myself.

I've owned several jet boats. Although I do not know the exact location of the mounts on an Olds 350 I can tell you this: You have rubber mounts where the Manufacturer designed the engine (center of gravity). You will have another set of rubber mounts where the jet drive connection is made at the bell housing (rear of the engine). Please do not overlook the fact that the engine connects to the jet drive with a set of u-joints, that should be lubed on a regular basis. As in an auto if a u-joint is going out, you'll pick up a vibration. Motor mounts last a very long time, I would look elsewhere. Hope my feed back helps you think out your situation. The link you gave comes back as Under Construction but I did find a forum at http://www.hotboat.com/forums/index.php Maybe a new forum is coming. The only difference in the url is the "S" at the end of hotboat. It got me on the right track though and thanks for that.

Can anyone direct me to a wiring diagram for a Chevy 454. I'm looking at buying a Renegade jet boat that just had the engine completely rebuilt and I think the guy got lost or some big bills came in and he has to get rid of the boat. The price is right, I think?, but the engine has just been sat back in the motor mounts in the hull. I hate messy wiring so if I can fine a good diagram for the starting, charging, etc connections, I can do a clean job.

    Thanks,
    Greg
