would this boat/pontoon work thing work ?









im not good makeing models or buidling and design boat but maybe u guys get the general idea
maybe its a bad idea idk that why i wanted to ask if it would even work at all its a small boat nothing fancy but would it work or do i need to think it it all over and just forget about it im new to boatbuilding and such but this has been in my head for a while after google around the net just would be intended to use for fishing and maybe a bit shelter when it statrs raining or in a pinch if i needed to sleep nothing fancy i want to use it on a lake fancy

 

Apart from some hull form comfort issues there could be some operational challenges.
Crew does not have access to the boat's side, for'd of amidships unless going through a hatch or crawling over the cabin. I suppose if you never have to moor or anchor there should be no problem.

 

ECO 5 power cat by K designs , plans are 100$ , cant go wrong for that price.

What do you want this boat to do - target speeds, planned engine, number of crew, expected load, general sea state condisions you'll encounter, etc.?

Boat design is all about, selecting appropriate shapes and equipment around the roles/tasks it'll be expected to tolerate underway. If you are having difficulty understanding the reason this particular set of shapes, will have comfort (and other) issues, well, you're not really ready to self design a boat, you trust to be in, farther from shore than you can swim back to. There are lots of small multi hull designs that could be utilized, so consider a set of plans for your first foray into boat building, which will offer an opportunity for you to learn a wee bit more, about the choices and decisions used in boat design.

 

Due to the relatively small waterplane area the motion comfort should be tolerable but the flat bottom might be quite noisy. Even at rest, that slapping sound might make sleeping a challenge.
