Truck bedliner style plastic for hull

    How come you don't see steel hulls coated with truck box style spray on plastic?
    That stuff is tough as nails and adheres like nobody's business.

    Before you apply the truckbed coating you must prep and epoxy prime the steel. Normally this is enough. Modern epoxy primers are very tough. You certainly could use some kinda truck liner stuff for additional chafe protection. It could be problematic if water gets between the truck liner and steel coating. Difficult to repair

    Or...

    Someone like me who wanted to build an aluminum boat but didn't want to trust my life with my non existent aluminum welding skills... could potentially build an aluminum hull from bolts and rivets, and coat it afterwards to make it water tight.
