Gorgeous boat, fatdog. I'd go for a brighter colour scheme though....
Any chance we'll see these on the Great Lakes any time soon? I don't happen to have that kind of money floating around right now, but surely some of those Toronto lawyers do....

We are in the San Juans looking for bathtubs - otherwise known as Cal 20s - the VW beatles of the sea - and other Costa Mesa builds to compare with our Max26x. Fleat 13 where are you? I am pleased MacGregors are in your class. Huzzah Huzzah.

Would like to organize a Costa Mesa build event of some kind as well as an overnight SSSS Race. Dog watch 1600 Saturday and Sunday Spenser Spit this week end. Also hope to race the new Thursday night beer can off Shilshole in about a month. I have checked it out - must have been 60 plus boats that day.

The church of FOYD will be opening regularly at the South Sound Sailing Society web site as soon as I get the boat back to Olympia. I will cross post interesting findings if you like or just join.

To all those viewing the previous entry by Mighetto:
This contributor is known among the educated populace of this forum to have no understanding, what so ever, of the basic physical principals of the movement of of a sailing vessel through a typical earthly maritime environment.
Any claims to the contrary are to be understood to be a weakminded cry to have his opinion heard at any cost. All those reading this diatribe must realize that Mighettos satisfaction in being heard will be realized at any cost in human life or safety. No consideration on his part is given to the well being of others.
All those reading this material would be well advised to avail themselves of some of the considerable material available to the public via this same resource. The informed members of this forum are willing (and able) to provide information that will lead the average individual to a logical and reasonable undertanding of a body of knowledge that has been aquired by a very driven and intellegent group of scientifically minded devotees over a number of centuries.
Mighettos theories do not present a new and controversial concept, nor do they even run counter to the basic tenants of modern yacht design.

    They are just plain whacko!

Please... for the safety of you and your family, disregard his statements.

Dunno, there's a (gasp!) powerboat in Frank's slip at Swantown. Maybe he's gone back to his true calling.

We moved the boat to the San Juans, Friday Harbor for the Summer and will be back at Swantown (hopefully J dock) in early September. The usual 10 knot winds have been more like 20 this season there and we haven't done much power boating at all. In fact, I think less than 3 US gal have been used. Truely remarkable. FYI - These Mac26x boats are faster under sail than 85 percent of the vessels under sail in the San Juans - of course few are race vessels. There are half a dozen on the old Williamson dock (W) dock in Friday Harbor and two weeks ago I helped put up the W sign which of course I wanted hung upside down for Macgregor. It is always about my ride. In any case we are taking Lattitude and Attitudes at Fishermans Bay next weekend and are flying the Skullers IPA and SSSS burgies. If there are any Sailng Anarchists I will let that fly as well. The Church of the Future of Yacht design meets first dog watch Saturday:>)

These TP52s are just such a travesty. I was finally able to get West Marine to carry a real sailing rag and in the August edition find that Juan Kouyoumdjian's design was rejected by "the TP52 executive". Get the magazine. Its a one design all right. Also On page 23

"There's also been an overdue correction for the TP52s to speed up their ratings relative to the same fleet and more significantly, the first home-grown IRC designs are making their competitive debut. The days of needing an imported design or a TP52 to win in a US fleet under IRC may be finally over."

Keep um in the med lads. They ain't welcome stateside.

I always have thought such. Join me in Software Anarchy (ZDnet). Don't know why I ply those waters when Sailing is what really matters.

Migetto-isms are not nearly as profound as Juan K -isms

"It is true that the class requires a new generation of sailors. Those who sail these boats should be of the NEW GENERATION, because it has proved hard for some of the old school to adapt quickly enough. If the sailing world is ready to accept this fact, then great. If not IT WILL ALWAYS BE A COMPROMIZE"

Kouyoumdjan is a rebel with a cause. That cause is to put a cap on TP52s and advance the state-of-the-art in Volvo 70s and yes even boats like MacGregors. The days of the fixed fin keel boats are over.
