There's always "the seal launch", but you can get a little help from your friends.
You can help them when it's their turn, I'm sure they'd like a river guide.

Since I can't remove the comment because it got captured by quotes, Let me just say that I did not realize the op was the boat's builder. I thought it was just something he had stumbled across and posted on a whim. I misread the short intro as an invitation to humorous comments.

No problem, the humor wasn't lost with me, I find it fun! In a subject that sometimes mostly not so …….. so please, keep it coming ….. btw, "The Final Portage"? Brilliant! I'll have to use that! Those carry handles and carry bars are held in place thru what I call the "landing gear". I got an early youtube video showing how it all works. It's less that professional but it's all I got at this stage so I'm putting it to work! the website has all the links and more ….

I actually had thoughts of my last boat, "Final Anchorage", which would have me in it, as it was set adrift, with the garboard plug pulled and set to self steer on a beam reach. Unfortunately, the USCG frowns on this sort of thing, so a smaller version is in the works, a 48" model of Final Anchorage, where my freshly incinerated butt will be placed and released from a mother craft, past the territorial limits.

I just wanted the wife to to toss me in the ocean so I could drift around and scare people for a while but the police won't allow it. Party poopers like the coast guard par.

I plan to make my final boat from salt, so at launch it will slowly dissolve, dispersing my ashes into the body of water tbd. Mrs. wants same for hers. LOA tbd.

Beautiful little boat/casket. It would be a shame to bury it or to burn it as in a Viking ceremony.

Ever wonder about the final voyages of many famous "OLD" sailors, lost at sea, I don't .

    Seems a tad old fashioned,

Perhaps a more modern version could involve a miniature shipping container ?

    :D

Would be a great photo being carried by the pallbearers - they'd look about 60 feet tall...

    :p

Seems to be lots of this casket/boat building going on-a couple that come to mind are the AIT things, and (for those who don't know-he built concrete submarines and moved to Colombia......................) Wilmer.

And I always kinda wondered whatever happened to that old Turkish or Iranian guy-with very poor English-who wanted to circumnavigate in that old barrel.

while doing a photo shoot a guy wearing a Thor's Hammer necklace came back (without his girl friend) to see and chat with me ……. he was all for this kind of idea! Some find the subject creepy but other embrace it, the reactions are fun to watch.
