It's the only 46' Hughes trimaran that I've heard of being built and it was on the market recently. I agree with your assessment and really like the boat and it's configuration it's quite Spartan without being like camping a really nice balance. I gather from some of Kurt's recent posts your considering doing new ama's on the boat as well? Looks very sweet.

 

Corley, she'll be a handful, and, yes, reef sooner than later. The model image attached has the look of the new ama bows by Kurt Hughes, though that modification will happen this month.

The former owner laid the boat out well - with the help of a prominent multihull skipper and relative - and there are a lot of lines leading to the cockpit. I'll have some time, and with the help of a couple of folks who know the boat somewhat, together we'll get it together. You may know that the displacement for cruising is about 11,000 lbs, 46' x 44', mast 72' tall or about 80' off the water. You know, Corley, there's not a lot of info out there on outfitting a multihull race boat into a racer/cruiser. If I have time, maybe I'll start a thread on what I aim to do with the boat, get ideas from the Forum, evaluate, and see how it all works out. She will be in the water and sailing in 60 days. I could continue the evaluation/posting on the water. Could be informative for me, and interesting for those folks thinking about outfitting their boat, hopefully the "right" way. I'm sure there will be lots of opinions. Aloha...
