An interesting project is currently untertaken here: a rebuild of the first hoovercraft vessel "Versuchsgleitboot System Thomamühl".

The original vessel was designed by naval officer Müller von Thomamühl in 1915 and intended to operate as a Torpedo Hunter for the K.u.K Kriegsmarine of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy.

As best I can tell from the pictures on the sites you linked to, that craft is an air-lubricated planning hull design, yes?

SES' and hovercraft are different in that they use purely powered lift, not relying on much, if any, dynamic lift.

Amazing piece of history though! Great project.
