Hi there this is my first thread.

I recently built a little plywood boat and was taking it out to the water and WHAM I SOLD IT :*( didn't even plan on this). So I got to thinking Lake Havasu is a boaters paridise and boats sell fast and at high values. I have talked to some of the boat sellers here and they would love to have some of my boats (on commition) if I can make them some. I don't won't to be working with wood anymore even though it made me a cool 35$ an hour. I would like to transfer my design to a mold or get a VERY VERY CHEAP MOLD for a small boat (paddle, moter it don't matter) and start with this. The last boat I made with common tools and don't have the money to spend on major equipment as I am a student.

What would it take; cost wise to get a mold and build my first boat say something small. I would work the buisness up from their. I am awsome at sales, am willing to try to get everything approved through the Coast Gard or any other groups I have to (if they are not that much). I don't think I could spend more then say $4000 from start to one finished boat. Is this posible?

Oh yea cost would not include fiberglassing or paint as I have a friend who would pay for enough to build two boats if I give him one.

I enjoy modeling with wood but I perfer to build firniture and dont care if I make a killing at it. Yes myself I perfer a wood boat and would rather buy wood then strait fiberglass. The market would be better but like I say I am more worried about recupping the monney with some left over to spend. So in this instance my questions still stands.

I appritiate your insite on this and do understand where you are comming from thank you for your reply
