    UPDATE:

Having just reread this thread it seems like an update is in order. The Fire Arrow Test Model was built and successfully tested in July 2014.
The basic system described in this thread for a trimaran with three planing hulls was used with these changes:
1-the unloading of the main foil occurs much faster than was originally thought. Therefore, lift to leeward by the main foil caused by the design sailing angle of the boat
occurs for a very short time as the boat becomes foil-borne. To compensate for that the vertical portion of the ama foil is twisted to a positive angle of incidence which also unloads the daggerboard as speed builds. What was a perplexing problem is now 100% solved.
2- While no foils ,T-foils w/o wands and curved foils on the ama were considered in this thread the development by TNZ of the UptiP ama foil seems like it was made for this concept and for all foiling tris. The Fire Arrow Test Model(which grew out of this thread) was the first trimaran ever to use the combination of lifting mainfoil, rudder T-foil and ama UptiP foils on a 100% full flying trimaran. The system allows the use of of an oversquare beam coupled with light air takeoff ....and more.
3- Since the successful testing of the Fire Arrow Test Model using basic concepts first postulated in this thread, several large trimarans have adopted their own versions of the Fire Arrow Foil System including the capability to use the daggerboard lifting foil to develop downforce and have further proven the basic Foil System in thousands of ocean miles starting with Maserati followed by Gitana 17, Banque Populaire, and Macif!!
4-The Two Stage Ama* system first shown in this thread was used very successfully on the Fire Arrow Test Model and will be used on the fullsize WOLF.

5- Further development of the concepts first mentioned here is covered in the Fire Arrow thread along with the design and development of the fullsize WOLF and also some interesting technical details of some of the full size tri's using foil systems remarkably similar to the Fire Arrow Foil System:

No it isn't. This thread was dead for 7 years. You have filled the "Fire Arrow" thread with interminable reposting of the same information for nearly a decade, there is absolutely no need for more of the same reposted in another thread.

I emphatically disagree. I have no intention of carrying on the Fire Arrow discussion here. I wanted to point out the fact that the basic system* conceived of in this long thread finally worked and is now proven and used by several fullsize trimarans. It's the least I could do for the people who have invested the time to wade thru this thread.
*including using the daggerboard lifting foil to develop downforce

Natural Progression- evolution of a concept: page 1 of this thread to page 189 here-MPX 11 to Fire Arrow to WOLF:

    scroll up.

WOLF is the essence of 3D Sailing and may reflect the state of the art in small trimaran foiler design. These pictures summarize the design concepts originated and developed in both MPX threads:
