Modeling the ship with 3D Studio Max

    Is 3DS Max a good software to model the ship. I need a tutorial for this one. Plz help me!

    Are you an enthusiatic amateur, or a dodgy pro? If the latter, I think you are the most irresponsible person on this forum. Why don't you get some basic NA training, then buy some software (the tutorials come free!).

    max is a great program and no its not for ship design, so yep PI...
    just in case xhanasico is a enthusiatic amateur i'd say try some nurbs
    or download a few 3DS free boat models from turbosquid to examine
    better yet start your hull in freeship and export to 3DS for detailing
    more info here under software on this forum and learn some basic NA
    that said, dont go totally banana's on the math, NA is a tough float
    and for max, actually, it works pretty nice together with acad nowadays

    Hi Yipster,

    Nothing against the programme, but confused by xhanasico's posts, which seem to be a mix of cluelessness, enthusiasm and software piracy.
