    Hello,

I see on Chesapeake Marine Designs website that at least one steel LIT 30 has been constructed to at least the bare hull/shell stage.

There is not alot on info on the site. I will probably going to get study plans. I would assume she is built out of primarily 3/16" m.s. plate.

I consider that the minimum for distortion free constrution.

Does anyone have an opinion on the design. Once I get the study plans I can provide some more pertinent information.

    Thank you.

Well, you're incorrect. 4mm is easily worked with minimal distortion. Under that it gets more tricky but still do-able at 3mm.

a 5mm shell on a 30' boat is going to be massively overweight.
