    The next Z06 super Corvette will have a carbon fiber roof panel coated with a very expensive clear coating first developed for PC boards.

    I don't think aluminum would stand up very well either.

    Is this where wood has an advantage?

    Not until I just now Googled it. (I've been out of the biz for years.) The obvious advantage of Z-Plex is that you can vacuum bag it - not so with Parabeam. Sounds like it might be too heavy for itty-bitty boats, the ones most likely to be bagged, I'm guessing.
