My advice would be stick to your area of expertise and do not make excursions into things you are inexpert at, if your business is as successful as you say, you can pay others who are able to do what you want, for you. Given that many people get seasick on a rolling sea, a boat does not seem to me a an ideal platform to sell product.

Is the OP for real or perhaps a troll?

Well, you have made a start and $1,500,000 will just about do for the up front research and design for such a boat. Probably not enough to cover architech's follow through on the build though.

The Op has made several posts about hopes of a open source design, say 75' - 100', hasn't really any concept of what's involved with a endeavor of this scale, nothing remotely resembling a rudimentary SOR, etc. Obviously this person needs some professional assistance is several regards, in terms of defining his (mission statement), the goals of the project, an appropriate approach toward finding a design. There are plenty of 75' designs in a stock design drawer, in each design office around the world. An hour of looking at various design firm offerings, will get him some GA's or accommodations drawings to work with. Personally, I just find this sort of thing lazy. In 15 minutes I can have several accommodations drawings posted on this sight, making me wonder how inept the OP's skills may truly be.

And the accommodations drawings. These plans are in the $4,000 - $5,000 range and though I'd never consider building a Bruce Roberts design, it's a place to start.

Even with a sufficient budget, you should buy a used boat first because you don't know specifically what you want or need.

Buy a used boat, find out what works for you, then if you want, sell it. With that budget or a part of it, a broker will be happy to help you explore the market.

Spend a few months evaluating a dozen boats on the water which fit your needs on paper.

Then spend at least a year with the best and you will get a very specific SOR that might warrant building new.

    Help me

First off I am absolutely serious

Who here is will to fly out here to Hawaii for the purpose of designing and building the boat for me
    .
Ill pay for stay and flight and you'll have 6 mounths stay even if you finish early must be 21 or older and half to be OSHA qualafied you will need a photo of you, an OSHA 50 hour card or an OSHA 100 hour card before Ill fly you out here this is an insurance policy against unskilled labor

I must have 10-20 people to do this
You must work during the week.
You iwill have 2 3:30 shifts with a 1 hour lunch break you could volteer to continue to work or take the rest of the day off this is due to what time i can spend nearby to supervise

You can have the week ends off weekends off ill pay you 200 dallors every weekend on top of paid food and hotel if you make reasonable progress determine by the group of builders (you guys) and my self the amount minium is 100 dallors for being behind on work oh and if you finish early ill give you 500 a week for the remainder of your stay

If you do not work you wont get paid and I will give you one ticket home thats it if you stay or miss the flight you will not get any other help from mbut as long as you work the specified hours above we wont have any problems ok

post you're reply here on this thread by the 20th of February.there must be photo of you and the card you have to bring th OSHA card with the specified hours. i must be able to read the card even if its in another photo and a detailed summary of why i should pick you and why your qualified to do this and ill post a list of who i pick and when and where you'll flight will be and what time it is ill also put the names and reasons why I didnt you

spread the word Ill be waiting

A project this size can't be done in six months with 20 people working short days. There is no such thing as OSHA qualified workers. The supervisor or the HR person is in charge of compliance and training of personnel. If you will hire a 21 year old to run the job, you can be guaranteed to get unskilled labor. First of all, hire someone to correct your grammar so you can be taken seriously. Your posts read like an incoherent rant.

Simply put, you need to hire an NA, preferably one that can oversee your project, which would include plans, project development, oversight of the build, controlling vendors and subcontractors, etc. A 75' - 100' yacht, particularly as a commercial venture isn't inexpensive, nor something that will be completed in 6 months. Since you're a millionaire, you should already know about hiring the appropriate staff for projects like this. There are several qualified NA's in your state as well as yards that can handle your project, where they also have qualified designers, engineers and NA's to get your project completed. I've supervised several projects like this over the years and it's not an uncommon request for any design office, as most are in your situation - not being well versed enough to get what they want implemented.

You can retrofit an existing yacht or have a custom, depending on budget and requirements, but you'll need professional help, to get certification and insure you project gets through all the hoops it'll need to hop through. Custom yacht plan pricing will start in the 20k range and will rise quickly from there, depending on requirements and certifications.

I know of a few larger yachts available in Hawaii and a 94' PowerCat is available for not a lot of money, though it does need a considerable amount of work. Ala Wai in Honolulu is where you'll find it. This could be a good basis for a retrofit or remodel, though you'll still need professional help, it's in the water and was once complyed for river cruises.

So you want to drop $1.6 mill on a yacht for friends and fun?

You could spend that much in building and have nothing special-and as if it weren't hard enough to sell yachts- you'd have a vessel that is unsellable.

Show up with a cashier's cheque for $1.4 and I bet every owner would accept:

I have visions of a someone who was ready to buy 10,000 drones leaning over the side, face turned green, as a the big swell heaves the boat up and down like a cork. Now he is only interested in getting back to shore !

I'm not understanding why you need a boat to demonstrate aerial drones.

If you went to that "mit collage" in Cambridge, Mass., you should realize that they also have an extensive department of ocean engineering I guess they call it nowadays. Someone there could put you in touch with a fellow alumnus trained in naval architecture who could provide you with advice in things nautical.

They don't worry too much about about language and communication skills at the MIT apparently !
