Hello all, wayne here from the UK, i kow but it has its good sides...somewhere:rolleyes::D

After a long time wanting to live on the water it has come time to start looking into building my own house boat for the UK canals and rivers, at first the build was going to be my own design as it is going to be a flat bottom and single chine if any, but then i have been looking for plans to build a barge type craft, easy then as my own could be a mistake....? it will be of atleast 50 foot long and 10 foot wide, but there doesnt seem to be many about, one i have found is a selway craft

    http://www.selway-fisher.com/Mcover30.htm

Thats look like a goer but can anyone point me to any other similar plans for such a craft, i want to build it from ply/grp hull, top deck probably the same, possible just varnished hardwood ply, looks aswome when done well.

    All best

    wayne:D

Hi Adam, the nearset cut is the L&L, only a few mile away, i have had all my boats on there from Adlington to Burnley, the size i gave is a minimum for a comfortable liveaboard for us, by time it is built we could be anywhere, even up in Yorkshire on the Ouse, we like York, i can alter the size to where we like to go and to the plans i get.

I have been looking at a broads cruiser shells to save a full shell build, but the drafts are a bit much for the canals, if that were we end up, but then good for the Ouse.
